CECA Scotland Academy: Meet the Students Week Review
The new cohorts of students at the various CECA Scotland Academy sites are now 6 weeks into their training and employers jumped at the chance to meet the students and lecturers
and to offer guidance and advice ahead of their graduation in January. In addition, the employers gained a valuable insight into the skills and experience the students are developing.
We had the pleasure of visiting 6 colleges and 77 students engaging enthusiastically with CECA member companies.
These employer engagement days are incredibly beneficial, demonstrating to students that there is a place for them in the civil engineering sector. Many contractors have committed to organising site visits, allowing the students to witness real projects in action across Scotland.
Our thanks go out to all the colleges and their lecturers for the great work that they continue to do in teaching our next generation of civil engineering operatives.
We also wish to acknowledge the guidance and support provided this week by contractors to the young people in the Academy and the teaching staff at the colleges.
