How CECA Scotland Supports Colleges
CECA Scotland is committed to providing comprehensive support to colleges participating in the Academy. This includes:
- Financial Support – Through CITB, funding is available to assist with course setup, hardship support for students, PPE provision, transportation, and marketing.
- Industry Insights & Curriculum Development – Guidance on industry trends to ensure course content aligns with sector needs.
- Guest Lectures & Industry Expert Sessions – Access to leading professionals who offer invaluable insights and mentorship.
- Site Visits & Hands-On Learning – Opportunities for students to gain practical experience by visiting active civil engineering sites.
- Employment & Career Progression – Every successful student is given the opportunity to interview for a position within the industry.

What is Expected from Colleges
To ensure the programme is a success, colleges partnering with CECA Scotland are expected to:
- Promote & Recruit – Actively promote the course and select candidates in collaboration with support agencies and public bodies.
- Maximise Enrolment & Retention – Work to optimise student numbers and ensure successful course completion.
- Deliver Standardised Training – Provide a curriculum that meets CECA Scotland and industry standards.
- Engage with Industry – Facilitate expert sessions and site visits in collaboration with CECA Scotland.
- Report on Enrolment & Success Rates – Submit accurate data on candidate participation and outcomes using CECA-provided documentation.
- Commit to Ongoing Communication – Participate in regular meetings with CECA Scotland and delivery partners.
- Provide Withdrawal Notice – Give CECA Scotland six months’ notice if planning to withdraw from the programme to ensure continuity of provision.
